26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack: Jammu Lawyers Protest Against Pakistan Over Hafiz Saeed Release Decision

Lawyers belonging to the Jammu Bar Association (JBA) protested against Pakistan in regards to a judicial ruling ordering the release of Hafiz Saeed, who is said to be the mastermind of the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai.

The protest was held at the High Court complex by the lawyers of JBA who demonstrated against the release of Saeed. The protestors raised slogans, tore up Pakistani flags, and later set them on fire.

Saeed Released Despite Being Declared As “Global Terrorist”

One the protesting lawyers pointed out that Saeed had been declared as “global terrorist” despite which Pakistan has failed to take action against him and released him. He further noted that although Pakistan says that it is fighting terrorist, it is releasing Saeed who has been involved in killing many in J&K by his terrorist activities.

The lawyers have urged authorities to carry out another “surgical strike” on the terror network led by Hafiz Saeed.

Hafiz Saeed who heads the terrorist organization Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD)  is all set to walk free after a Pakistani judicial authority ordered his release from house arrest earlier this week, marking a defeat to India’s efforts to bring to justice those accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

The banned terrorist currently carries a bounty of USD 10 million which has been announced by the US for terrorist activities. He has been kept in detention since January of this year.

Release Ordered By Judicial Review Board

The release was unanimously ordered by the Judicial Review Board of Punjab province which comprises judges of the Lahore High Court after he completed his 30-day house arrest.

The board led by Justice Abdul Sami Khan asked the government to release Hafiz Saeed “if he is no longer wanted” in any other case.
