AIMIM Leader Asaduddin Owaisi Demands Law Against Muslims Being Called "Pakistani"

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded for a law to be introduced that punishes any person calling an Indian Muslim “a Pakistani”.

Speaking in Parliament, Owaisi said that a person found ‘guilty’ of this offence must be punished with a three-year jail term.

He however later added that the current BJP-led government will not bring such a bill.

According to Owaisi, Muslims of the country had not accepted Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s two-nation theory, but were nonetheless still being made to feel like outsiders.

The AIMIM leader, who was participating in the Lok Sabha debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s Address, called the triple talaq bill “anti-women.”
