Lawyers representing the former US national security adviser Michael Flynn have informed President Trump’s attorneys that they would no longer discuss the special counsel’s investigation regarding Russian interference in US presidential election in 2016.

The former NSA’s legal team has been exchanging information with the president’s team of lawyers regarding the Robert Mueller’s ongoing probe into whether the Trump campaign conspired with the Russian government to interfere in last year’s election.  .

A report by New York Times citing four sources close to the case said that Flynn’s lawyers have reportedly ended collaboration with Trump’s lawyers, by terminating an “information-sharing agreement”.

Defense lawyers regularly share information when investigations are ongoing, but the practice is considered unethical when one client is cooperating with prosecutors while another is being probed.

Mueller’s Investigation Has Evidence Against Flynn And His Son

Mueller is probing a private meeting being held between Flynn, President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and a Russian ambassador

Having a deal in place with Flynn would enable Mueller to get an insight into the presidential campaign during its early days, which could help expose Trump or his campaign workers .

According to a recent NBC report, Mueller has gather sufficient evidence to file charges against Flynn as well as his son under the investigation being carried into election interference by Russians. .

Flynn was fired by Trump in February just 24 days post his appointment, after reports emerged that Flynn had communicated with a top Russian official during the transition period and lied about it.
