Justice Karnan orders a travel ban of Chief Justice and 7 Supreme Court of India Judges

Justice Karnan quoted that the travel permit of judges abroad has the probability of the “virus of caste discrimination spreading”.

Jutice CS Karnan of Calcutta High Court has instructed the Air Control Authority to prohibit the Chief Justice of India JS Kehar  and seven Supreme Court judges who had issued a contempt order against him, until the case disposes off.

“Today the above mentioned accused 1 to 8 were called absent however their matter is re-posted to 01.05.2017 [Monday] to enable their reappearance. Meanwhile, the court directs the Air Control Authority [referring to the Airports Authority of India] New Delhi, not to permit the said accused 1 to 8 from travelling abroad until this crucial issue is disposed off, as the nature of the offence, that is caste discrimination, is not only a heinous crime but also a very cruel Atrocious Act of heinous crime, and is punishable as per the Indian Constitution,” said Justice Karnan in his order yesterday.

According to him if the judges are permitted to travel abroad then there is a probability of the “virus of caste discrimination spreading”.
A suo motu contempt order has been issued by the seven judges against Karnan in February after karnan had reported 20 “corrupt judges” in January, seeking probe against them to restrain “high corruption” in the Indian Judiciary.
